Mary's Fundraising in Sean's Memory
Thursday, 17 June 2010
Mary presenting the cash to Sharon Adams, Manager of Alexander House.
Mary Stark, a Domestic Assistant at Alexander House, tragically lost her son to a knife crime last year. Since Sean's death Mary and her family have been fundraising to set up a Trust Fund for his two young children.
Fund raising events have included concerts at which local artists performed, discos, collections and raffles. In one such raffle a top prize, a hand held computer donated by a local computer shop, was won by Amanda Smith, a Kitchen Assistant at Alexander House.
Mary has very kindly donated £695 of the total funds collected to the Residents Fund at Alexander House. A garden seat bearing a plaque in memory of Sean has been bought for the garden at Alexander House.
The residents and staff are extremely grateful for Mary's donation.
Mary has also donated an equal sum of money to Crimestoppers asking that it be used to help victims of knife crime.
