All the staff of Alexander House in their 1960's outfits

The Staff of Alexander House.

Residents and staff at Alexander House took a step back in time last week when they had a 1960s theme day which was suggested by the residents. The entire staff went to tremendous efforts to recreate the rock and roll and flower power era in Crossgates. Residents created psychedelic posters advertising the event which were hung in the public areas of the home and made hats to wear on the day. Music from the decade was played throughout the day and the residents watched films relating to that era including Summer Holiday and Grease.

An American Diner was the theme for the lunch menu which included hotdogs, french fries and burgers and knickerbocker glory.

The staffs outfits were judged by Chic Smart, a regular visitor to Alexander House. Colleen Duncan, one of the cooks, and Anne McGowan, a Team Leader were joint winners.
