Alexander House residents and staff went back in time to remember VE Day earlier this month. The home had a visit from the Fife Mobile Museum and Gallery. This service, run by Fife Council, is free and aims to make exhibits from local museums accessible to all. The theme for this year is Blackouts Bombs and Bananas which recalls what it was like during WW2 in Fife through the eyes of a child. The residents thorougly enjoyed the visit of the bus.

To add to the experience Alexander House staff dressed up in costumes from the war days. The reminiscence boxes were brought out containing memorabilia from the era which the residents passed around and remembered how these were everyday household items during their youth. Some of the residents watched old WW2 war movies from the home's DVD collection.
